Hi! My name is Mark Jacobsen and I’m a Realtor with FreedomRE. Your source for greater Lansing real estate!
So how did I get started in real estate? It’s always been something I’ve had an interest in and to be direct, most of the real estate agents I’ve dealt with in the past seemed to be missing something. I realized my business, technology, marketing, and financial background would combine into “the perfect storm” to help my clients sell their homes faster, and find a new place to call home with as little stress and confusion as possible.

Ok, so it’s easy to throw terms out there, but what do I mean specifically about my experience?

Business: I’ve been a small business owner since I was in high school. After college I started my virtual phone system business and expanded into real estate hotlines shortly after. It was then that I started to get the feeling that I could do “the real estate thing” too.

Marketing: One of the most important things a real estate agent can provide is marketing for your home. Unfortunately, for many people that means their agent puts the house in the MLS and waits for the listing syndication to push the home out to other sites online. If there’s one thing I learned from running my own business it’s that there are a bunch of additional channels that can be used to advertise and market anything. Without the marketing experience I gained from those businesses they would have withered and died on the vine, but instead they continue to thrive and help me learn other creative ways to market your home.

Technology: Does this sound familiar? “I’m not very tech savvy” – hint: that’s a ploy to get you to call so the agent can yap your ear off. That ship has sailed and we now live in a world of email, text messaging, IM, and more. Isn’t it time your agent joins the party? With over 13 years experience as a lead developer at one of the top financial institutions in the country that has been recognized time and again for its technological innovations I have the ability to provide my clients with a unified technological platform which helps reduce confusion, streamline communication, and make dealing with all the paperwork involved in real estate so much easier.

Financial: Buying a home is probably the single biggest financial decision a person will make in their life. Shouldn’t you be working with someone who not only understands the implications of that decision, but has done it in their own personal life? While I’m not a financial planner, I believe my clients want to work with an agent that can help them get what they want without burying them under the weight of a bad decision.

Bottom Line: If you’re looking to work with someone that will look out for you and your best interests, get in touch!
